Sounds great. My stressing isn't getting me anywhere. I will try your approach of trying something different. Anything but what I am currently doing. I did not work out over the weekend and my stress level is sky high. Also my worrying, same thing, getting me nowhere fast. Worrying is negative. Being proactive about a situation is a better idea. I hope this works. The other definitely isn't. I'm worrying and stressing myself into a complete wreck. Yipee. Not exactly how I pictured myself at 39. I will try your approach, something different.

Avoid stress - Take up yoga, read a book, take a break from whatever you are doing. Learn meditation and breathing techniques to reduce everyday stress. Take a week or so break from your exercise routine after 6-8 weeks of regular training. As your body learns how to relax, the level of cortisol hormone will fall correspondingly.

Another way to relieve stress: Stare at the wall and think of nothing.

I work in a very stressful job, and find the best way to relax and distress is an aerobic workout when I come home from work. Most days now I ride a bike for and hour or two. I ran for years, but had knee surgery and am still recovering but have found the bike works just as well as the running for clearing the head of a bad day at the office, and calming the mental edges.
