Cheer up football fans. Tonight was the first game of the preseason game and we are now about 4 weeks closer to the start of the regular season.
The Hall of Fame game was held at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio and it featured the Indianapolis Colts against the Washington Redskins. It was not a bad game at all for a preseason game, with the Redskins winning 30-16.
The game started with an onside kick by the Colts and recovered by the Redskins. Two plays later it was a TD by Jason Campbell to Antwaan Randal El. In their first drive of 16 plays, the Colts had to settle for a field goal by Adam Vinateri. The Washington offense looked good, but that may have been due to a lack of starters by the Colts defense. The first flag wasnt thrown until there were about 11 minutes left in the second quarter, unusual for this type of game.
Colt Brennan played in the second half for the Redskins, and had a great debut. He made 9 out of 10 attempts and 2 touchdowns.
Mike Hart, running back out of Michigan, got a second look from Tony Dungy. The young man looked good.
The Pillsbury Doughboy (Lorenzen) looked as bad as he did in New York, and Quinn Gray looked like Quinn Gray. Sometimes good and able to make plays by using his legs and other times not looking so good at all.
