Default Tips to Improve Your Sleep

* Exercise regularly. Exercise helps tire and relax your body.
* Don't consume caffeine after 4:00 p.m. or so. Avoid other stimulants like cigarettes as well.
* Avoid alcohol before bedtime. Alcohol disrupts the brain's normal patterns during sleep.
* Try to stay in a pattern with a regular bedtime and wakeup time, even on weekends.

Hi Ralph, see if you can help me. Even if I try I cant maintain a regular routine to go to bed since my work is as such. I need to work till late night and often it becomes dawn when I go to sleep. Problem is the sleep timing is gradually getting later for me as a result I cant fall asleep as soon as I lay on the bed. I do not indulge in coffee or any other intoxication though yet this is a problem for me. Any suggestions of how I can improve my sleep?

Hi, Good to here that you don't consume coffee. First thing I want to urge that what makes you to work till dawn ? Try to reduce your working hours, if possible. Health is wealth.
Another thing, if possible purchase some white noise system. This will produce sound frequencies to make sleep fast. Please search net for it, otherwise tell me.

Take care and visit here to get advices from other uses also.

Hi bd costa ...as well as all the other things posters have mentioned , slowly winding down with a good book , not a fast paced thriller ect just bit of light entertainment ..you could save the good books for a moment at lunch break . I dont know if this works but it does for me sometimes, you could try it . If you like milk or perhaps you could make it with half milk half water or just skimmed low fat milk , a nice cup or mug of hot chocolate not too much chocolate or a malted milk brand ...and a cookie or something if your really hungry . But no big meals late in the evening and no coffee , leave the tv off if you have one in the bedroom , if your home in the mornings make sure you have the blackout lining on the curtains so the room is dark and you could also by those soft little ear plugs in foam that go to the shape of the ear canal . If your hungry have a light breakfast cereal , shower to relax and then to bed ,

Hope you get that wonderful sleep soon .

Hope you get that wonderful sleep soon . I just thought of another way, i should of mentioned how about some deep breathing, or worthwhile getting a realaxation tape , you could do it on the bed ...some of those tapes are excellent . Or if you are feeling very wound up , how about a slow, short ...walk ...around the block if you live in a quiet area taking deep breaths, just stretching out a little or breakfast in the garden , if you have one , and weather permits , listen to the birdies ...nice and relaxing ...with your cereal .

Good luck , and please post when you have an enjoyable one .

Regards , cathy , just have to type a little more this message is not posting ...hope it does now !no it isnt! have i made an error somewhere along the line here

Cathy
....hope this works now
