I am a full time nightshift worker and work from 10:30 pm till 6:30 AM Sunday through Thursday. During the week I sleep decent, from about 8 AM to 2PM. I usually am still quit tired when I wake up because I could use more then 6 hours.

I am now thinking of changing my profession now, came to know this from some of the renowned health practitioners that the night shifts can have its toll on our health on the long run. As you said I am also a night shift worker and sometimes require to work even in the Sundays. The disturbance in the normal sleeping patterns have had no such bad effects for me till now but do not want to invite troubles in the future. The only problem that I see in days when I am off I cant sleep in the normal time as it seems I have become habituated to sleep in the morning.
If possible suggest a remedy or ways to safeguard from future problems else I got to change my profession to ensure a better old age of mine. |
