Default cannot wake up !

I've had this problem for a while now. See I fall asleep and then i would try to wake up, but i can't. Its like i hear myself saying Wake Up! Wake Up, I try to move but i can't, feels like something is holding me down and i start panicking and it's like i can't breath. I try to move so i can snap myself out of it, but i can't. The most recent one, and scariest one was about 2 nights ago. I couldn't sleep, till finally i rest my eyes and I open them i could only see out of a slit out my eyes. They were halfway open, but i was still asleep. I gripped the bottom of my bed with my toes, but i couldn't wake up! I kept telling myself to wake up, but i couldn't. I felt like somethign was holding me down again. What is going on with me, my mom says that happens to her too, but what exactly is happening to me???
