Default sleep

was recently diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea and prescribed a CPAP. Although I'm not thrilled to have to use it I am excited about the potential of my quality of life improving. I have the Respironics Optlife Nasal Mask and Respironics REMstar Basic M Series CPAP and Humidifier. I have been using it daily for 12 days now but have yet to see any improvemnt in my sleep or daily energy. I am also waking up to find the mask not on, I'm removing it nightly without recollection of doing it.

Are these experiences normal? How long do most take to adjust sleeping with the CPAP? When should I start experiencing better nights of sleep? Any tips of how to improve the adjustment period?
