Priapism

Priapism is a condition in which a male develops a permanent erection. If your erection lasts for an unusual period of time and is unrelated to sexual contact, consult a physician immediately as timely can prevent permanent damage

Possible causes of Priapism are :

* Penile injection therapy for impotence

* Physical trauma to the penis or surrounding region

* Diseases which thicken the blood like leukemia or sickle-cell anemia

* Cancerous growth around the penis preventing outflow of blood

Medication, or minor surgery to remove the old blood from the penis are the most common treatment options.

Just on this subject ..but its interesting ..theres also a condition or a "state" where a woman constanly has orgasms without any form of stimulation it is quite rare im not sure of the figures but i did see a tv programme where a woman shed had children i think but got a new boyfriend ..a bit younger than her ..when she had an orgasm ..to her horror ..she continued to have them 24 hours a day and thats shopping trying to work in fact everywhere she went ..it was exhausing for her as you can imagine and im sure the sudden surprise and happiness of her new boyfriend quickly demised !!! he was sympathetic but drugs and having to see drs ect over this condition ...was very distressing and also having to control her facial expressions in public ..im not sure how many women have or do suffer from this condition in the world but it would be interesting to know !!
