My research indicated this is still an unproven treatment compared with the more established methods of radiation therapy, i.e. IMRT, Proton Beam and Brachytherapy. There is no long term data comparing its curative rates with the other methods and Radical Prostatectomy and the skill levels and technology are variable between practioners since this isn't offered at the top cancer centers but usually at private clinics.. Also the research indicates that there is a suspected higher risk of recurrance at the treatment margins since the "knife" only treats to the edge of the cancer.
Anyone have more information about its effectiveness as a long term cure?
