prostate cancer hormone therapy

As I have heard that the harmonal therapy for the prostate cancer can generate some side effects like increasing the risk of Diabetes and Heart Diseases.
So do I need to prefer the harmonal therapy for prostate cancer treatment or there is another safe therapy?
