Thanks for your stories, gentlemen. After reading this forum, I have just
called my urologist to cancel my Advance Sling surgery. I had daVinci
about 13 months ago and use about 1-3 Depends underwear per day.
If I have a few beers watching a ball game, I have to be very careful.
I must then get up in the middle of the night to avoid an "overflow", but
I am not giving up beer! ED seems to be improving lately, but daVinci
definitely set me back in that department. I have decided for now to get
the "Beyond Kegels" book and put up with the pads. I mean...what's the
point of having the surgery if many patients still need 1 pad per day?

I am also "chicken" about the pain. I am normally very pain tolerant.
I had a boil excised by scalpel without anesthetic and I have had skin tags
removed with an electric spark device. I have had many surgeries and broken
bones...but I have never had pain like I had all night long on the first night
after my daVinci. They would only give me 222s, and they did nothing. I am
sure I bent the rails on my bed and I was cursing my surgeon. The posting
by Veronica reminded me of this pain...and supports my surgery cancellation.

Alan , I had the Divinchi prostrate operation in Oct of 2006. I never did stop leaking only one pad per day. My problem was when I wanted to have sex I leaked twice as bad. My partner would not have a thing to do with me. My doctor suggested the "Male Sling" but I stalled long enough. Had the procedure performed in Feb 2009.
I have not had a pad since. But what I wanted to tell you was I tried sex and belive it or not NO leaking! My wife was as amazed as I . Sex now is nightly , no mess and the "oral" is out of this world.....
I suggest to all men that have this problem to see thier urology and talk about the "Advance Male Sling" It sure helped me.
