Default baby to sleep in the parents' bed?

My baby always sleep with me ... Now it becomes habit for him.. Is it OK for a baby to sleep in the parents' bed?

It's not recommended. Someone has just published statistics on how many babies died last year due to crushing and suffocation. I don't want to scare you, or seem judgmental, as I had my baby in my bed too! Although he wasn't in the middle and to be honest I didn't really sleep with him beside me!

An alternative is to place the crib/cot really close to your bed.

NO

Stop it now I have a friend that did it told her not to, took a week of a screaming 2 yr old at bed time to break them of it.

I would stop that if possible...

Have 3 kids...the first two it took for ever to break the habit and I put a stop to the last child because I found out that she did it for her and not the kids. It will put a strain on your marriage one way or another. And the child will always want to be there. Remove know if possible. Need to keep your bedroom for your marriage and not a family meeting place.

I agree with everyone else. It is pretty dangerous and a lot of babies die from it.

Both my kids slept with me for several years,(their father wasn't interested in sharing my bed) it worked great. My kids are top students, well adjusted, great teen agers now. Don't do this if you are a drinker or doper.

I had my 2 kids sleep with my husband and I in bed. I breastfed both and it works better if the baby is close by, I don't need to get up. When I weaned them off of breastfeeding, I also weaned them out of our bed.

Worked for us. My kids are also bright. The eldest is 10 years old now, and he does HS math, also assembles desktops. His dad is an IT specialist and he taught him well. The youngest follows his brother's footsteps. He loves music and sings well. Both boys are very sweet and affectionate.

Oh yeah, it beats the heck out of getting up in the middle of the night.

I miss my babies, CW! I have not seen them for almost a year now.
