This time I got my car taken away as well as getting grounded for 2 months and having to spend time with my dad(car and insurance and all that is payed by myself). I personally think that both punishments are rather ludacris and was wondering what your views on it are as well as other ideas for punishment.

Since you're 17, and soon to be tried as an adult for future marijuana offenses, Your parents are really taking one last stab at trying to put the fear of God in you, but don't want to add to your criminal record (I'm guessing school doesn't know, and thats why you're not suspended).

2 months grounded: I'm not sure what grounding consists of in your parent's house, but two months is nothing. Compare with 3+ years of random drug tests that you'd get on probation.

No car: This is tricky. Is the car titled in your name with no lien? Are you 100% sure you pay for all the insurance?

But really you still live at your father's house, so you have to abide by your father's rules. As soon as you're done with highschool get your own place. Tell your parent's you plan on leaving the nest when you're 18 and you can spend your 2 months of house-jail learning the skills you'll need for your own apartment/single-wide: carpet shampooing and steam cleaning (and where to rent them), cooking (Theres little point in having a car, a place to live, and then only being able to offer a Hot Pocket to any sexy women that happen to be invited over), laundry, and start collecting stuff for your house (pots, kitchenware, furniture, etc).

marijuana IS bad!

You probalby don't want to hear this....but you need to follow your parents rules and suffer any punishment they deem fit to measure out to you. You'll be out of the house soon enough and then you can do as you please.

You knew what the consequences would be after the first time. Man up and tough it out!
