Default How does stress affect mental illness?

Going through a stressful event doesn't necessarily mean that you'll develop a mental illness, such as depression or an anxiety disorder. But it can increase your risk of developing a mental illness.

Stress runs the gamut, from daily hassles, such as traffic jams and financial worries, to major life events, such as the breakup of a relationship or the death of a loved one.

What do you think ca the stress be the reason for the mental illness?
