Between the ages of 14-17 I remember being hard constantly, rock hard and able to last hours. When I was about 18 I fell at work, right on my ass, down a few stairs. It didn't hurt right away but I woke up a few days later and I couldn't walk I was so stiff, my back that is.
I went to the doctor who basically told me to take it easy for a few weeks as I had just bruised a muscle. This must have been his opinion as there were no ex-rays taken.
The back problem never really occurred again but I'm pretty sure this was the start of my ED. As far as I can remember ever since that fall my erections haven't been the same. Once in a while I'll wake up with hard morning wood. If I attempt sex or masturbation it goes semi-hard or I just lose it altogether. I do not get spontaneous erections anymore. During foreplay my penis will become almost fully erect and fairly rigid. However, it will only stay hard or semi-hard with direct stimulation. Literally, I could get an erection right now by stimulating myself but the minute I stop I can watch that puppy fall down within seconds. It's almost as if it refuses to hold any blood. This especially occurs when I stand with an erection. When I was younger I used to get them in the shower all the time. Now it is very difficult to get and maintain an erection while standing. For some reason it is harder and longer lasting when I'm sitting.
I'm 30 now so I've had this problem for a while as you can see. I'm a fairly active guy and I eat very well. Mostly whole foods, drink a lot of water, green tea, good fats etc. I'm lucky enough to have a wife who accepts me and we still have pleasurable sex but it's just the whole semi-soft thing bugs me. It seems to make me ejaculate more quickly also.
I know it sounds ridiculous but I've been trying to muster up the courage to go to the doctor about this for a long time now. For some reason I always chicken out. I've always had a "hard" time being open about it.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on the subject. I'm not sure if the back injury is what caused it and as I say my back has never bothered me again.
