Default Calorie deficit confusion

I would really like to lose weight.... I am 25 yrs old 233 lbs 5'11". My goal is to be 175 lbs....I am hoping to do this by June...... I have read the tutorial and I am a little confused about the calorie deficit. I used the calculator and it said that to lose the weight in that amount of time my calorie deficit would be something like 1375. So does that mean that if I eat 2000 calories per day and I burn 625 of those calories, I would be losing weight? I am sort of confused please explain to me in greater detail, thanks.
