Default pump consult

so.....i'm having my pump consult in like a week, and at first i was hecka excited, because, wow, its like 1 shot every three days! but now i'm sort of nervous, because i have no idea about all the specifics of pumping. Like, I know you have to do "bolus rates" when you eat or are high, and that you get a little bit of novolog at a time that acts like a long acting insulin, or something. But other than that, I'm completely lost as to how to figure out how much insulin per hour i'll need, how to deal with it during swim practice, and other things like that. It's like, I finally managed to deal with shots and the sliding scale, and I'm super pro at counting carbs, but pumping is a whole new territory. =[ I know that they'll teach me this stuff when I go in for the consult, but it's nice to know stuff in advance.

And, also, what kind of pumps do the majority of you use?

Any suggestions?
