Default Anxiety/Panic Attacks

Now these I did have 2 of so far, hoping not to experience
any more(kow).

Back in Sept. 2005, I was in the Hospital to have cataract
surgery. Well Sir, that didn't go well.

I guess it happened because there were so many People, so
many questions, unfamiliar surroundings, too many medical
things being done to me too fast....I rarely cry but that day
I did and I pulled the blanket over my head.

The other attack 8 mths. later: I was looking out the window
having a glass of water. I started feeling weird. Light-headed,
pounding heart, queasy stomach, feeling scared and felt like I
was dying. I checked my sugar but it was 6.3. No problem there.
I tried to focus on something else, that didn't work. Since I
couldn't control it and I didn't know what was going on I decided
to call 911. Luckily my Hero walked in then and drove me to the
Hospital instead.

They did all the heart tests, etc. My blood pressure was 177/92
The Dr. told me I had a Panic attack. I asked if this would cause
me to have a heart attack or die. He smiled and said, No. He
suggested the next time that I lie down, put a cold cloth on my
forehead and breathe slowly in and out of a paper bag 'til I was
relaxed. He also said a nap wouldn't hurt. He also suggested that
I discuss this with my Dr. in case I needed any therapies or meds. in
the future. Thankfully, I haven't had another one.

Anyways, I found this Good site describing anxiety/panic attacks.
Of course, the numbers will differ depending where you live.
