Default What's Your Mantra

So, what is your mantra? You know, those words you say to yourself to get you past that tough part of your workout; the words you say to finish strong; those words that keep you going when you really want to slow down and take a few breathers?

Don't have a mantra? Let's brainstorm. What are some good things to say to yourself? What would keep you going like the energizer bunny?

Sculley, I'm afraid I'm going to need a whole suitcase full of mantras for Bear Mountain on Sat., so I hope you get lots of responses to this!

When I get really tired, I tend to repeat "finish strong" and "just keep running" (the latter was adapted from Finding Nemo!), or to sing snippets of songs like "she's got legs, she knows how to use them." Sometimes I just count footfalls, up to 100, and then start over again.

mine is probably "you can do this"....though I have been known to start singing "just keep running" like molasses...gotta love that movie

I also will do the counting thing when I'm having trouble finding a rhythm, by about 300 I'm totally zoned out on auto pilot...that is my favorite part of a run
