Recently pilates exercises have gotten very popular. However, you might not know too many specifics about them. Just what are pilates exercises, for instance? Pilates stands for the Pilates Method, developed in the early part of the 20th century by Joseph Pilates. He referred to this method as Contrology, since he believed that the mind was being used to control the muscles.

Pilates focuses on core muscles which affect posture and balance. Awareness of breathing and spinal alignment...
